Principal's Message

Tokeneke School is one of five elementary schools in the Darien Public School System. We serve approximately four hundred and fifty students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Tokeneke is a safe, warm, and welcoming school where students, families, and staff come together to provide the highest quality educational experiences for elementary students.

At Tokeneke, we believe in a whole-child approach to education. Our staff recognizes that all students are unique with regard to their family, culture, experiences, talents, and skills. We differentiate our instruction to meet the diverse needs of our students while also maintaining high expectations for all.

We provide a rich curriculum that balances academics, arts, health, and social and emotional learning. We strive to develop lifelong learners through fostering a love of learning in our students. Students learn to work collaboratively with classmates on engaging tasks to deepen their knowledge and skills.

The Tokeneke Parent Teacher Organization (TPTO) works closely with our staff and families to support many local initiatives at Tokeneke. They help organize our many events for families, our parent volunteers, and connect new families to the Tokeneke community. They are our true partners in making Tokeneke a great school.

We invite you to join our great community of learners because Together We Can Make A Difference.

If you have any questions, please contact our main office at 203-655-9666. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Ryan A. Betts, Principal
